Author: HOOVER, Michael G., MCBRIDE, Donald G., MONK, Robert D. G.
Date:
Presented at the California-Nevada Section, American Water Works Association, Monterey, California, April 13, 1984
Abstract
The Los Angeles Aqueduct Filtration Plant is not only one of the largest direct filtration plants in the world but includes several interesting and unique engineering design and construction features. The planning and design of this 70 million dollar construction project is based on several studies and treatment comparisons conducted intermittently since 1975. The project completion is scheduled for January 1986, and the plant will be capable of treating 930 cfs (600 mgd) of Owens River Aqueduct Water.
